First of all, congratulations on crossing the finish line — that's no easy task. We wish you the best with the film and your future endeavours. As Film Review solely covers feature films, we are unable to accommodate review requests for short films or web/tv series. While we do our best to cover most of the year's feature film releases, please note that we generally only cover feature films with a theatrical run or major streaming release. With our small staff, we are unfortunately unable to get to most review requests. So many films, so little time!

While we appreciate your interest in Film Review, we do maintain a very small staff and are unfortunately not hiring or accepting submissions at this time.

Film Review Annual was first published in 1944, edited by F. Maurice Speed and continued in print until 2015, when it transferred to the online website of Film Review Daily which you are reading now. On the other hand Film Review magazine started in 1950 and was the house publication of the Associated British-Pathe production company ABPC and was sold only in their ABC cinemas. It originated with the title ABC Film Review and tended to emphasise the films produced by Associated British or other company releases that the ABC cinemas were showing. Examples are M-G-M, Warner Brothers and Pathe who produced the weekly newsreel Pathe News distributed to ABC cinemas. In 1972 ABC was dropped from the Film Review title and the magazine went on sale to the general public. The last edition was a combined one for August and September 2008. The only connection between Film Review and this subsequent monthly magazine, is that they share contributors in James Cameron-Wilson and Michael Darvell. For a complete history of Film Review Annual, see volume 70, the last to be published in print form in 2015, or our History section.

Film Review has been celebrating cinema since 1944. The world's longest-running film annual, Film Review was the first book of its kind to cover an entire year of 'filmgoing' and invited industry professionals to comment on their craft. Over the years our contributing authors have included such luminaries as Alfred Hitchcock, Michael Powell, and Cecil B. DeMille — just to name a few. The seasoned critics on our staff have been professionally reviewing films since the 70s, including our Executive Editor James Cameron-Wilson, who took over the reins from founder F. Maurice Speed. The vast majority of our contributing critics are also long-standing members of the prestigious London Film Critics' Circle — the national professional body of British critics and the UK’s longest-standing critics’ organisation. Film Review published 70 annual print volumes between 1944 and 2015 before the yearly look at cinema moved to an entirely digital format, Film Review Daily. Beginning where the print annual left off, FilmReviewDaily.com has continued bringing audiences the ‘Releases of the Year’ on a daily basis for over a decade. What began as a UK publication now has a dedicated global online audience of cinephiles.
