79 years ago, on 8 December 1944, the very first Film Review landed at all UK bookshops and bookstalls. Printed in four colours on art paper, the initial volume fulfilled a long-held dream for founder F. Maurice Speed. As the world's longest running film annual, Film Review published 70 volumes between 1944 and 2015 before moving digital to continue the annual format online. As our 80th Anniversary approaches in 2024, Film Review announces the launch of official merchandise to celebrate the occasion, now available in the shop. Additional announcements and products await in 2024, including a line of limited edition posters and a brand new book.

With a passion for classic film, Chad collaborates with the families of stage and screen legends to shine a light on their legacy and bring their work to new generations. As a film historian and critic, Chad has covered the world of cinema through reviews and conversations with filmmakers for such publications as Film Review, Boxoffice Pro, and Man of Many. He serves as the Digital Editor of Film Review and hosts the podcast Classic Movie Club. Chad holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from The Actors Studio Drama School, a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Purdue University, and studied at USC's School of Cinematic Arts.
