Nominations Announced: 2026 EE British Academy Film Awards

Bafta has announced the nominations for the 2026 EE Bafta Film Awards, celebrating the very best in film over the past year. Actors Aimee Lou Wood and David Jonsson announced the nominations via a live broadcast from Bafta 195 Piccadilly.

The EE Bafta Film Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday 22 February at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London and broadcast live on BBC One and iPlayer and internationally, as part of an unmissable celebration of British and global film hosted by multi-award-winning actor, writer, producer and TV host, Alan Cumming. Viewers will also be able to find all the essential action from the red carpet, ceremony and beyond across Bafta’s socials.

“Huge congratulations to the teams behind the 46 superb films nominated today,” said Bafta CEO Jane Millichip. “They showcase the very best of storytelling and its ability to engage, entertain and provoke debate. This year’s nominated films are full of bold storytelling and exquisite craft. And the breadth of narrative, genres and styles is spellbinding. Whether newcomers or veterans, I hope our first-time nominees enjoy this much-deserved spotlight, and I look forward to welcoming them and all our returning nominees to London.”

“Across the 2026 EE Bafta Film Awards nominations, it is thrilling to see British indie films and debuts in the company of blockbusters that have taken the world by storm,” added Sara Putt, Chair of Bafta. “It’s an exceptional year for bold, original storytelling. Behind these films are thousands of hard-working crews who have worked tirelessly to bring them to life – the quality and craftsmanship on display is filmmaking at its best. We hope the public enjoy watching these films as much as our 8,300 Bafta film voters have.”

Watch the 2026 EE Bafta Film Awards on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, 22 February 2026. For viewers in North America, the event is available on BritBox, which is also accessible via an add-on channel through Prime Video.
